Camp-O-Ween 2021

We are so happy to say that we had our second annual Camp-O-Ween this past weekend and it was an absolute blast!

We are lucky enough that most of our campers are 'lifers' and the few that are just stopping by typically live their lives out of their campers. Traveling from one campsite to another. We realized last year that this meant that a lot of our campers hadn't had the joy of having trick or treaters in quite some time. Add in the fact that most Halloween activities in our area have been cancelled due to the health concerns we've all been dealing with for the past few years. The kiddos in our small community have always had so few options on Halloween, that losing even just one was sad to see. So we decided to start having an annual Camp-O-Ween.

Even with a full year to plan and get things together, the hubs still thought I was crazy to want to do it all again. Don't get us wrong, last year was a blast but it was a LOT to handle. But as usual our amazing campground family came together to make it an event to be remembered! We were able to put together quite a few carnival style games for the kiddos, including a Witches Hat Toss, a Mummy Race, a Spider Toss, Shoot the Monster (nerf guns, possibly the favorite of every kid there), and a few others. Plus we brought back the favorite of last year, Paint A Pumpkin!

Once everyone had enjoyed the games and prizes at each station, some of them over and over again, they settled in for some free hamburgers and hotdogs and yummy deserts!

Then it was off to trick or treat all around the campground!

Once their buckets were all full we gathered back at the pavilion for smores and hayrides!

Needless to say, fun was had by all!

Seeing all their smiling faces filled ours, and our campers, hearts with joy. We heard from so many kiddos that this was 'The best night of their life!' and that they hope we do it again next year. We are so thankful to each and every person that helped make our second Camp-O-Ween such a success and to the community members that came to spend a night of Halloween fun with us.

Without each of our campers and the support of our community we couldn't do the things we do.
